Dragon Dreads is a fashion led brand for those who like to stand out from the crowd!
Inspired by Japanese street style, librarian geek chic, retro pin-ups, sci-fi mysteries and Victorian adventures.
Dragon Dreads is a family run label started by Sally and Charles (husband & wife). The name Dragon Dreads originated from this partnership. Both love dragons and when they first met Sally had rainbow dreadlocks which inspired the Dragon Dreads logo.
It all started several years ago when Sally started making jewellery for herself. So many people commented on her colourful and unusual accessories that after many requests to buy from her, she decided to start up her own fashion brand.
The Dragon Dreads ranges have expanded over the years and now include:
'Out of the Toybox'- Inspired by Childhood memories of growing up in the 80's and family holidays to Disney, full of lots of characters from TV and film, including Disney characters.
'Novel Necklaces'- Inspired by Librarian geek chic. Sally is actually a qualified librarian and a huge book lover. Combining her love of making jewellery and reading she created this mini book necklace line.
'Good Enough To Eat' & 'Sweet Shop'- inspired by Japanese street fashion, featuring yummy cupcake earrings, lolly pop necklaces, Love Heart bracelets and lots of other Jewellery that looks good enough to eat.
'One Little Spark'- inspired by the films of Tim Burton, gothic illistations, retro pin ups Arthurian ledgends and pre raphaelite Victorian dreams.
Dragon Dreads jewellery ranges are now available in shops around the world including fashion brand Yumi , and alternative fashion website Attitude Clothing.
Dragon Dreads started selling their products from a stall in Camden's Electric Ballroom and have since expanded to their own shop and trading at many other events across the country. In 2012 the Dragon Dreads jewellery range was seen on the catwalk at London Alternative Fashion Week and in the papers worldwide the following day.
Other events/shops Dragon Dreads has traded at include: Milton Keynes Collectormania, London Alternative Fashion Week, Thought Bubble, Memrobillia Birmingham, The London Fetish Fair, Kapow, London Alternative market, The Lorian Trust's Gathering, London Film and Comic Con, MCM Expo and Collectormania.
